We got bunkbeds!!

Hello!!
Sorry I haven't been posting for a while. I have been busy with school, and dance just started up again, and Sunday School, and on top of all that WE GOT BUNKBEDS!!! YAY! I will tell you all about it.

We went to IKEA last Saturday and bought our NORDDAL bunkbeds. They are black, but that is okay. We spent the rest of that day putting them together. It was the most complicated ikea thing that we have ever put together! Dad got mad at it a couple times. We got our neighbor to come over and help dad lift the top bunk on the bottom bunk. I am on the bottom, and Miranda is on the top. We love it very much. Mom, Miranda, and Sonja were at a feis in Chicago while all this was happening, so Dad, Sese, and me had to put it together by ourselves. They also came home at about 11:00 when I was trying to go to sleep. Here is a picture of it: (I got this off the website)

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/images/products/norddal-bunk-bed-frame__0107485_PE257168_S4.JPGIsn't it great? (BTW, we put the ladder on the left side) The mattresses are sooo comfortable.  We also got a really nice desk with a storage compartment for the living room, instead of just having an old organ bench. It is very nice.

Well, school has begun. I started a couple days before it officially started, so I'm kind of ahead. Also, last Sunday we started Sunday School. And, yesterday, the Oireachtas season began. So, that's what I've been doing in the past few days!
Bye!

The State Fair!!!

Hello.
I will tell you what has happened in the past few days/weeks. I will start with the Two Rivers Feile.

I did very well: I got a 1st in my reel, a 1st in my treble jig, and an 8th in my hornpipe. I don't even know why they even have medals for 8th place. They were gold, too.

Yesterday we went to the State Fair. It was very fun. I will tell you all that I can remember.
We left for our bus at about 8:15 and drove down to the school where you are supposed to park your car. We waited about 5 minutes and the bus showed up. It was pretty packed already, so we had to stand up. It was the most terrible bus ride of my life. Well, we got there and gave are tickets to the people. We decided to look at the Skyride and the Space Tower first. It was all like, 4 bucks a person, so we're like, this is too expensive let's not do this. So we went over to look at the Giant Slide, but that was too expensive so we didn't do that. So we went over to the Midway and we went on the Ferris Wheel, and Sese and I went on a fun ride called 'The Fun Factory', and then Sonja and Sese went on a ride called 'The Alpine Bobs'. Well, we had used up all of our rides tickets so we decided we would get some food, so we walked over to the shave ice stand which is right by the Coliseum. It was very very good. We went inside the Coliseum and ate it there. The English riding horses were there and they were doing their jumps over fences. (I hope you understand what English riding horses mean) I don't really like them. I like the cowboys better. Well, then it was getting to be about lunch time so Sonja went and got herself some fish and chips, and we got a pretzel and cheese sauce, and some spicy fries from Dino's, and Mom got this really good wrap that had lamb meat, and tomatoes, and some sort of sauce that tasted like spicy mayo. We went to Leiny's Lodge to eat our lunch and we saw this band called, 'Mountain Heart'. They were very good. We stayed for a while, but then we went over to the International Bazaar. We looked about in the merchandise and we found a nice little booth that had these little animals that were made out of stretchy fabric and have little beans inside. Sonja, Sese, and I got little dragons, and Miranda got a monkey. My dragon is purple and blue and has sparkles, Sonja's is green with sparkles, and Sese's is white with sparkles and it has a pink stomach. Miranda's monkey is like a neon rainbow color with sparkles. Then Sonja and Sese got a smoothie and Miranda and I got some cotton candy. Well, then we went down to the Horse barns and saw some horses and some donkeys. Then we went to the Sheep and Poultry barns and we saw those things, and we also saw the rabbits. They were adorable. Then I think we went to the Agstar Arena, but nothing was happening there, so we went outside and saw the Clinesdale Horses. They are BIG. Gargantuan size, they're HUMONGUS!! We saw them getting ready for the parade. After that we got a Funnel Cake at the food building and we ate that. Then we went into the Creative Activities building and we saw all sorts of cool stuff that people had made. One person had even made a wig out of pink yarn!! After that we decided we should go home. So we went out to where our bus was supposed to be and waited and waited and waited until it had been at least 30 minutes and we were getting all mad. So then this other bus driver comes and informs us that our bus has broken down. So, they got us a special bus to go in. This time we actually got seats. So, we drove home. Oh, also, sometime (I can't remember when), we went to the Miracle of Birth Center and saw a little lamb being born. So that's all that happened at the fair. But I had a really bad cough yesterday, and my voice got very hoarse by the end of the day. It's funny, my throat feels fine, but I just have a bad goose cough. Well, that's all for now.

Love,
~Izzy~

We are leaving for the Two Rivers Feile

Hello.
Today, in an hour, we are leaving for the Two Rivers Feile. (you say Feile like FAY-lee) It is our fifth feis this year. (I'm thinking that you all know how to say feis) I hope that I will do good. I think that I am ready for this. Miranda is hoping that she will qualify for Oireachtas at this feis. She especially needs to in her softshoe, so I think that I will not dance my Slip Jig, to give her a better chance. That's all I have to say about the feis.

Last night we watched part of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. (That's the second one, FYI) We couldn't finish it because we had to get to bed. It is not the best one of the six, but some parts are okay. I like 3 and 6 the best. They have the most action. I do like number 1, with the Gungans and Jarjar. I am really hoping that you all know what I am talking about. If you don't, I will be very sad. You really need to watch these if you haven't. Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. Goodbye, and wish me luck.

I'm back!!

Hello.
I'm back!!! I have not posted for a very very long time. I know that you really want to hear about my trip with my grandparents, but that was a long time ago, so I don't really remember all that much about it, but I will say that I had a very fun time. About 2 weeks ago, I came home from Church Camp. It was SO MUCH FUN. It was at Camp Sinewa, in Wisconsin. We had a very long drive but it didn't seem that long because we were doing things in the car. And, my team won the talent show! (They have talent shows on the last night every time) Anyway, we had a lot of fun and we are going to go next year. (of course) Let's see.... I'm not that sure what to say here.

Well, at dance class we are preparing for the Irish Fair that is in about two weeks. So, we are just getting the show together and making it good. Last Thursday we did a little show at the Saints Game. The theme was, "Saint Patrick's Day in July". So of course they had to have Irish Dancers. It was very hot and we were very sweaty the whole time. We only had two wear our dresses for like, ninety seconds, so we weren't in those the whole time. We wore regular T-shirts and black skirts. So, it wasn't all that bad.

Tomorrow we are going to go to the MN zoo!!! At 4:00 pm. I hope it doesn't rain, because then we wouldn't be able to do the outside stuff.

I have been reading a lot of books lately, and now I am reading, "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". It is NOT abridged, just so you know. I am able to take strong literature. It's not to hard for me!

Anyway, that's all I have to say for today. I will try to post a little more. So, Goodbye.

What I was doing in the past day and today

Hello. Even though you all really really want to hear about my 6 day long trip with my grandparents, I am not going to post about that just yet. I will in a following post. Instead, I will tell you about my trip to my other grandparent's house.

Today we got home from Grandma and Grandpa's (Storhoff) house. Yesterday we did a show at the Green Lea Nursing Home that is a block away from their house. We had fun. We didn't really do that long of a show. Just a few dances, some songs, and piano numbers. And Grandpa told jokes. Here is one of them: A kid said to another kid, "My dad can lick your dad." The other kid said, "So? My mom can, too." hahaha. (Let's hope you're all dying of laughter right now.) Us four girls walked home from the show and we went to the sandhill. I'm not sure if any of you know what that is, so I will tell you: It is a HUGE hill that is made out of sand. It is a block from Grandma's house. It is very easy to climb up, and I have always wanted to carve my initials into it. You can break off pieces of sand off and it kind of looks like fake gold nuggets.
Rookie is in a big cone because he cut is leg, right above his pads. I bet he can't wait to have it off. The good thing is, he can put his head on your lap without slobbering all over you.
We watched a movie called, "Yankee Doodle". It is about the life of George M. Cohan. It was good, but it was about 2 and a half hours long.
Grandma made her delicious waffles for breakfast. She was sorting through all of this old jewelry. Some of it was really ugly, but some of it was okay. We found some old unicorn earrings that we will try to polish up and fix. Miranda found an old locket that had Grandma's picture in it from a very long time ago. She took that home, because she didn't have a locket, and she wanted to put her picture next to Grandma's. The other thing was a little gold sand dollar that we put on a chain. I took that home, and I love it very much. We also found books that we took home. I got the following: Doctor Doolittle and the Secret Lake and Stories from the Arabian Nights. I will begin reading them ASAP. So, we all had a good time. I hope this post fits your enjoyment, because it did mine.
Love,
~Isabel~

We are leaving in 20 minutes

Hello.
Today we are leaving for the Milwaukee Spring Feis. It is a long 5-hour trip. Plus, we have this STUPID snow which has to keep coming back. I'm not sure if it will slow us down or not. I really really hope I get a good place in my softshoe at this feis. I have been working on my reel. My goal is to qualify for Oireachtas. I have to get a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in all of my dances to qualify. I have qualified in both of my hardshoe. Well, I think we are beginning to pack up now.
Love,
Izzy

--------------------

Hello.
Yesterday's show was normal. No mishaps. Only, I forgot my whistle. *yippee* So nothing majorly bad happened. Now we only have one more in April, which is a staff banquet at a place that we just did. So, our tour has basically ended.

Last night we watched half of the movie Little Women.  Tonight we will watch the other half. Now I am reading the book. Mom also got us the older version of  Little Women  but we decided to watch the other one first. (because it is in color) Mom also got us the Bing Crosby movie Going My Way. That is what we got our song that we sing in our shows from.
Well, I am going to eat my lunch now. Goodbye!

Excited for Feising Season!

Hello.
I just finished washing the table. Sonja, Sese, Miranda, and Mom just left for the library. They are going to pick up 'STAR WARS: The Empire Strikes Back'. Hopefully we can watch it tonight. Last time we watched star wars, we broke our speakers. We will be watching it using the TV speakers this time.

I am soooo excited for the feising season!! I get to wear my new dress!! The next feis is going to be in April. It is the Minneapolis Feis. Another one by O'Shea irish dance school. After that is the Milwaukee Spring Feis, which is the week after the Minneapolis one. A school in Wisconsin comes to our school some years and does a work shop. The teacher invited us to go to one of their classes whenever we are in Wisconsin. So, the night before the Milwaukee Spring Feis, we might go to that class. Since Miranda does not have a dress right now, since she is waiting for Sese to get a new dress. Sese is waiting for a girl to get her dress which is going to be some time in April. So, Miranda is going to have to wear my old white dress for a few feises. It fits her pretty good.

My strep throat is pretty good. Now dad is sick, but he doesn't have strep. (yet) Miranda is pretty sick too. We all are except Sese. Not really really sick, but just cough cough stuffy nose headache sick. I'm the only one with strep so far.

We have a show tomorrow afternoon. I think it is the second to last one! Yippee!! We have another show in April. Well, I will tell you about tomorrow and how it goes!
Goodbye,
~Izzy~

I stayed home all day today

Hello.
Today I stayed home from morning and evening church. I'm still contagious, so Mom thought I should stay home. Miranda felt pretty bad today too, so she stayed home from morning church, but she feels up for going to evening church. Dad is also pretty bad. He is home with me. He is making us eggs for supper. Tonight our family is supposed to do the meal for youth group, so they are bringing:
Baked Ziti
Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge
Brownies
Milk
So they should have a pretty good time. I bet Miranda is going to be bored out of her wits without me at church.

I am feeling better today. I can talk clearer now, and I can sing! Since today is Palm Sunday, the kids choir at church was going to sing a song. But I wasn't there so I missed it. Oh well.

Tonight I would like to watch an old Bing Crosby movie like, Here Comes the Groom, or Doctor Rythm. I hope we can. Well, that's all for tonight, folks!

I have Strep Throat

Hello.
The doctor called today confirming that I have strep. Well, they just might be wrong. I feel way better then I did yesterday. My throat doesn't feel like it has knives in it. I can talk way better. I still cough, but that has nothing to do with it. I really want to go to dance class today, because this is the day that a special teacher from Ireland is going to come and train us. Mom says that I might be able to go. She is getting my medicine from the pharmacy now. So yeah.

Today is our dance teacher's birthday. Sese is making ginger snaps which we will put in a little gift bag tied with pink ribbon. Mom also got her a balloon (much to our suprise.) But, it was $4.49, and we can't return it now. Well, I hope she likes it.  The first batch of cookies is done now. While we were making them, we found out that we didn't have enough sugar. So, Mom went to the store and got some. After we had added that, we found out that we were also out of molasses. So again, Mom went to the store. Finally we had all of our ingredients, so we finished the recipe. Well, I might be leaving for dance in 4 minutes, so goodbye!

What I did today

Hello.
Today we did two family shows in Mankato. The first was at Oak Terrace, and the second was at Keystone Communities. At the first show we figured out that we had forgotten our microphones in a different traveling case! The people at the place actually had one microphone for us to use, so that saved our day. But then that microphone was very very quiet. Well, we got through that show. The second show went much better than the first because the people there had two very good microphones. There was also a grand piano so we didn't have to use our keyboard. Well, after our shows, we drove for an hour to get to dance class in Eden Prairie. I did not go to dance class because when I am dancing for a long time, my throat gets unbearably painful and it takes a while to get it back to normal. And Mom didn't want me to go to dance anyway. So again, Miranda and Selena and Sonja went without me.

Today I am a very little tiny bit better. I can talk. I can't sing. I felt pretty bad in the morning, but then I had some tea and felt a little bit better. I haven't had any medicine today except for some tylenol right when I got up. So, I'm still pretty sick

Has any of you seen Sonja's tour video that she made on Facebook or Youtube? Look on my dad's channel for the video on Youtube. It's really cool. I hope you see it.
Well, that's all for today, folks!
Goodbye

I'm sick

Hello. I am sick. Not throwing up kind, but really really really sore throat kind. When I swallow, it feels like I'm swallowing a knife. It really hurts. I woke up this morning, and I had the goose cough. I couldn't talk either. Then I had some tea and it felt a little better. I can talk now. Then I took a steaming hot shower because Mom said that would clear my throat. So I did, and that hardly helped. I had tylenol, cough drops, advil; But it just keeps hurting. Mom says I don't have strep throat though. I won't be able to go to Allegro today. Miranda has a little sore throat too; She might not go to Allegro either. Last night I didn't go to dance class because I was too sick. I had a little fever yesterday. But I don't today. I took a nap in the morning. But I'm not tired now. So, I'm really bored. But, Miranda has to fold all the laundry. Heehee. Well, that's all!
Goodbye

News

Hello, everybody!
Well, tour is over. It was a good one. I wish there was more days to it. Well, I have a cold. It's not really that bad. I just took some medicine and it well..........BLECH! Grossest flavor ever! I hope I don't have to take it again.

I have big news! I'm getting a new solo dress!!! YAY! I might of told you that I had gotten my dress taken out and down. But now, it is so low down on my hips, that it makes me look really weird when I am dancing. So Mom said that, Yes I need a new solo dress. It is yellow and white. It is in very good condition, even though it is a few years older than my current dress. I will be wearing it in April, for the April Feis. I didn't wear it for St. Patrick's tour because Mom thought that because the tailor person had put so much work into it that I might as well wear it. So I did. (duh)

Allegro Choral Academy has been going very well for Miranda and me. We are enjoying it very much. I may not be able to sing if my cold gets any worse. Our classes are every Thursday at 6:30 to 7:45 (PM). We are singing a song in German. It is very hard. It isn't a very long song, but we still haven't gotten to the end of it.

Well, that's all!

What I've been doing

Hello!
I have not posted for a long time. So, I will tell you about what I have been doing.
The last time I posted it was approximately 5 days until we were going to leave for Kalahari. So I will tell you about our fun and exciting time there.

We drove for about 3 hours until we got to Wisconsin Dells. We drove to our little/HUGE condo which was number 21 I think. There were 2 bedrooms downstairs, 2 bedrooms upstairs, and 1 bedroom in the very downstairs. Mom, Dad, and I slept in the downstairs bedroom. I got a bed to myself! Sonja, Sese, Miranda, and Sophie slept in a bedroom upstairs. Hank and George slept in the bedroom in the basement. Well, there was a flatscreen TV in every room. The kitchen was huge, there were about 3 bathrooms, a HUGE TV in the basement, a large bar, a pool table, and large fireplaces. (We watched Prince Caspian on the flatscreen TV downstairs. It was great.) We had supper and then went to the waterpark. We first went on the family raft ride, which wasn't really that fun but kind of fun. The second day we were there, Sophie and I went on it 6 times. Then we went on a really fun rollercoasterish type of slide, which was very fun and exciting. I went on a red body slide that was pretty fun. And I went on another body slide that had a sort of bowl at the end where you dropped out. That was not fun at all. I got water up my nose, and fell sideways out of the thing. The water was also nine and a half feet deep. It was not a good experience. We went in the wave pool several times, playing 'being washed up on the shore' which was fun because the waves wash you up till you are directly on the 'shore'. The lazy river was pretty good, but not as fun as the lazy river at Chula Vista. But we only did the lazy river once. Well, the last slide that we went on was a big tube slide, which was basically just like the Family Raft Ride. Well, there you have it. That was a rough report of my trip to Kalahari.

Last Sunday, we did our first show for tour! We went to the Waterpark of America. It was very, VERY hot, and even hotter because we were all in our wigs and solo dresses! But after the show we went to the waterpark, because if you danced in the show you got to go to the waterpark for free. First we went into the lazy river, and then, we went on the Family Raft Ride. We waited in line for about 20 minutes. The slide was actually pretty fun. Sonja, Sese, Meema and I went on it. The only thing was that you slid up onto the sides of it. But, it was fun anyway. Then we went left the waterpark, because we only had an hour to do it, because Mom wanted to get home. Well, we went back and got our clothes on, and then we waited for dad to come pick us up. We picked up a cheese pizza from Little Caesar's on the way back. After we had our pizza we just went to bed.

And that is all I have been doing.
Goodbye!

St. Patrick's Day is coming!!!

Hello!!
It is approximately 5 days till we leave for Kalahari!! We can't wait!!! It's gonna be sooo fun!
Well, that's enough screaming.
St. Patrick's Day Tour is coming!!! Our first show day is on March 3rd, at the Waterpark of America!! I have no idea where it is going to be. But whoever does the show gets a free pass and a T-shirt! So of course we will be doing that. I hope that some of you will come to see us dance. We are on the 3rd, the 7th, the 9th, the 12th, the 16th, and the 17th!! The 16th is going to be our earliest day. We have to perform at 7:30 AM!! I am really excited. I don't know what dress I'll be wearing. My white one, or a yellow and white one. I'm pretty sure that I'll be wearing my white one, but if Miranda can't borrow someone's dress, she is going to have to wear mine, and I will have to wear the yellow and white one. The yellow and white one fits good in the length, but it is very tight in the bodice. But I can still breathe. It has a lot of room to take it out, but I don't think that we will be doing that much work on it. On Wednesday we will be picking up my white dress from the Tailor. I had to get it let down and a little let out. But I hope I will be able to wear my white dress for this tour. Well, I am hope to see you at some of the shows! If you want to come, email my mom and she will give you the full details.
Love,
Izzy

The Second Annual OID Feis at the MOA

Hello again. Today I will tell you about the OID Feis at the MOA.

We all woke up at about 7:15 and had breakfast. Then Miranda and I got on our dance clothes and wigs. Dad drove us to the MOA and dropped us off right by Nickelodeon Universe. Then we went and got our numbers, and from there we went into the Great Room (which isn't so great.), and checked it out. It was really hot in there so we went out onto the Patio, which is the only place that had open seats, and put our stuff there. We waited about an hour before we had to get our shoes and dresses on. We checked into our Reel. That went well. Then was Slip Jig. After we came off stage we changed our shoes and went back on stage for Treble Jig. Then was Hornpipe, and we were done! It was the fastest feis that we had ever been to! We checked   our results after we had gotten our dresses and shoes off. Miranda got a 4th in Reel, I got a 3rd in Treble Jig, and I won my Hornpipe!!! I didn't place in my softshoe though. I think its because of my posture. Anyway, we had never left a feis at 1:30 before! So now we are home.

The next big even is our trip to Kalahari, which I am sooooooooooooo excited about! We leave in 22 days!

Tonight we are going to watch a move  called "The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole". I told you that I am going to start a series called 'The Owls of Ga'Hoole" right? Well, this is the movie of it. Well, I think that I will leave now.
Love,
Izzy

What I've been doing since Christmas

Hello. Well, it's been a while since I posted, and I figured that if I didn't post soon, people would stop looking at my blog, and we wouldn't want that to happen, would we? Well, anyway, here's the update on things that are going to happen and that have happened:
1. This Saturday, Miranda and I are going to start our new choir thingy. It's called Allegro. We are excited and thankful that we could have such a nice opportunity to do this. Thank you, Aunt Jan! (it was a Christmas present from her) 2. On the last weekend in February, my family, my cousin Sophie's family, and my Granny and G-pop on Dad's side will be going to the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells. We are soooo excited! We will have a 2-story Condo, with 5 rooms, 7 TVs, and little movie theater, recreation room, and lots more!! We can't wait! 3. The OID Feis at the MOA is coming up next Saturday. Miranda and I will be participating. It is our first feis of the year and we are hoping we will do good. We are working very hard in class. Our goal this year is to qualify for the Oireachtas. (If you don't know how to say it, that's okay.) 4. That is all I can think of, so yeah. Anyway, last night, we watched Doctor Dolittle. Half of it, at least. It is the old one with Rex Harrison starring as Doctor Dolittle.

I recently went to the library and have gotten many new things, like The Rescuers, and The Wonder Clock. But I especially liked The Spiderwick Chronicles, and Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles. Those are some of my favorite books. They are filled with action and adventure, magical creatures like faeries, goblins, trolls, dwarfs, elves, sprites, and much more stuff. Even though you know that all of that stuff isn't real, it is still a fun series to read and very interesting and well written. If you have read them, good for you! If you haven't, you should read them. I also have started the Warriors series. Warriors  is books about cats, and its really hard to explain. And, I started the Wolves of the Beyond series, which is by the same author as the
Owls of Ga 'Hoole series. The wolves are scottish, and the owls are british. Well, I'm sorry, but I have to get ready for dance class, so I won't be able to post any more.
Bye,
~Izzy~

Christmas Vacation

Hello.
I haven't been posting in the last few weeks (months) because I could never find a time to get on the computer. So. Now I will tell you what I got for Christmas:
Slippers
A gray sweater
a book called: Cecile: Gates of Gold
The 7th Tintin book
A neon pink flower headband
A dark pink flower clip
A rainbow colored flower clip
Panda earrings
Sequin Dangly earrings
The initial ' I ' necklace
A new bathrobe
Argyle crew socks
3 pairs of ankle socks
A 2013 dog calendar
A cute graphic shirt
$ from Grandma and Grandpa
$ from Granny and G-pop
A book from Granny and G-pop called 'Bible Quotes to live by'
And I also got two gift cards: one for Barnes & Noble, and one for Target. I got these books at Barnes & Noble:
The View from Saturday
The Magic Half
A pretty pink bookmark

And I got these at Target:
A pretty floral shirt
A sparkly gray cardigan

And I also got a frogs bookmark from Auntie Boogie.

And I just went to aeropostale and got a cute blue pullover sweater, and at old navy I got a neon pink thermal long-sleeve shirt. Well, our trip to Grandma and Grandpa's was good. We saw all of the family except for Auntie Boogie's family, because we arrived too late at the dinner at Auntie Carrie's house. We had LOTS of meatballs, and LOTS of cookies, and just  little bit of rumegrod because it is so filling.

After we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house we went to Granny and G-pop's house. We watched the recentest Pride & Prejudice, and Uncle Howard's family was there for a little bit. We were pre-heating the oven for a pizza, when Granny started to smell something, and there was smoke coming from the stove. Well, somebody opened the oven, and then the smell came  out. There was a plastic drip tray in the oven the whole time, and it had melted to....I don't really know. So we got all of our stuff out of the house, and left all the windows open, and went the Corky's for pizza instead. We got sausage pizza with extra cheese. And then we went to our hotel for the night. We went over to their house after we got up, and had breakfast there. So after lunch, we went home.

So I will now try to post more often. And by the way, has anyone noticed my new monkey? I thought Prickles was too boring. If anyone needs to know how to make it work, just comment on any post, and I will get back to you soon. Well, goodbye for now.

~Izzy~

P.S. It was my blog's birthday a couple of days ago!
